By Faniyi Oluwatomiwa Elijah Some days come with so much trouble That all you can do is sit Listen to the wind as it hums Drink the wine of hope Empty the pains of your thought And sleep your sorrow away. Some days arrive heavy and overweight You'll wish you could register it at the local gym With the hope that it might just work out And get in shape and be able to On its own walk out of your calendar Without staining you with rancid memory. In those days, I prefer to sit At the foot of the rock Where my apartment perched Look into the eyes of the setting sun Who, like a new bride was beginning to hide Its radiant face behind the veil of clouds. In a moment, I'm floating Another moment, I'm soaring This boy is never a setting sun You'll spend the rest of your life Counting his radiant rays Wrong to say he's got a spark Cos' he's fire, a blazing son. I'm the persona in this poem. Most times, the world hauls its weight, the entire 202lbs, and hurls it on my poor, feeble shoulders.

I love the flow of the poem. It resonates beautifully well. I also love the use of personification in the poem, that was able to birth to the in-depth beauty that resides in the poem. My area for improvement would definitely be on the use of grammars. I believe that if the grammars are strongly constructed and used, the beauty would be heightened.

I think the beauty of poetry is in the ability to paint vivid pictures on the canvas of one's mind with few words. Today came in overweight, urging me to share in its burden and I too sat staring at the sky, trying not to break down in tears in the Danfo while listening to calm songs.

A beautiful depiction of the ups and downs of life and the firm resolve that through both turns , one must hold on to the top , not giving in to down times , not giving up on bad Days.

I love the poem it shows that life is full mystery. Some days u might wake up feeling different and having your mind full with different thought and all u would want to do is take those feelings off your mind.
