The Unwanted Guest by Ifeabunike Ginika Anastasia

You came in as a friend of the family
Everyone, even surly Billy
Thought you were a lily

A night became nights
And you were always in our sights
And shared with us all our rights

We can't abide this pretext
You have become a pest.

I couldn't help grinning sheepishly as I read this poem. The poet captured in few words and with a good dose of humour, that moment when hospitality morphs into parasitism.
I can absolutely relate to this!
