I have seen several literary movements created in the past which never led Nigerian writers to the promised land. So little was done to improve and shine light on good writers.

These movements end up as pipe dreams, because the creators lack consistency and perseverance to follow through to the tunnel's end.

Sometime last year, SLM sent me an instagram DM, urging me to be a part of them because they liked my works. I was not moved because I have had such messages from other initiatives before. But after going through this website, i'm beyond awed, because I must confess that i'm impressed. I can't wait for 2019.

As a matter of fact, beyond the hunger to just write a comment and win books, i'm sure the next thing to do after dropping this comment is to fill the form. I sure do want to be a part of this opportunistic initiative.

I got the message below from SLM on 7/8/2017.

"Hi, how are you doing? I want to ask if you would be a part of this movement. Our aim is to gather Nigerian writers and put their works on the website to promote Nigerian Literature and let writers be aware of each other. For more information about the agenda please visit the link in the bio section and please reply on ig to let us know that you are in with us. You can send your works for publication on the website via email; sprinngliterarymovement@aol.com Thanks and have a great day."

I never got to respond until 22/11/2017. I don't know if SLM read my reply. But i'm hoping they did. I chanced upon this post tonight and knew it was time to be a part of this.

If there's one thing I'd like to say about SLM, it's that it needs enough publicity - lots of it. I noticed how there's less traffic here as against how vivacious it's supposed to be. On my own, i intend introducing more people to this initiative. More energy and invitations to be part of this can be encouraged through the utilization of every appropriate channel.
SLM can actually be the next big hub for Nigerian writers. I'd suggest a mapped-out added incentives to draw writers to this opportunity be employed.

Hello Kingston,
Thank you very much for expressing your concern about literary movements that have been created to lead Nigerian writers to the “promised land.” Initially when SLM was created in about 2 years months ago, our first challenge which we overcame, was reaching out Nigerian writers and ensuring that they were aware of our presence. The outcome of this outreach was the message that we sent to you on August 7, 2016. In your comment, you stated that the message was sent to you in 2017, which is incorrect. As of 2017, our focus and priorities had shifted to more significant concerns.
If you read our mission statement, on, you will see and understand that our work in the movement is not to get Nigerian writers to a “promised land” because realistically, there isn’t one. We work with writers continuously with the intention of guiding their journey in writing and making multiple impacts in Nigeria, and the world. With consistency and perseverance, SLM has had many accomplishments as you will see on the about page on our website. One of our most recent achievements is the establishment of the Sprinng Literary Movement Mentorship programme that started in January. The Sprinng Literary Movement Mentorship Programme is an intensive 2-weeks programme for developing writers with great potential and willingness to learn. There is a page on our website also dedicated to this programme.
Most notably, SLM works continuously to shine the light on many developing writers. A writer that we can boast well of is Olawale Ibiyemi, a mentee of the SLM Mentorship programme. Upon finishing the programme, he successfully published his first book which is a masterpiece. To support Olawale Ibiyemi, just like SLM has done for other writers like Dami Ajayi and Damilola Popoola, etc., we plan to run advertisements on Olawale’s book, do a book giveaways, a book review and an interview to support him wholeheartedly. Additionally, despite being a non-profit organization with no external financial support, the SLM team is dedicated to providing opportunities even at their own cost. One of such opportunities is the monthly book give away or gift card give away for readers to shop at Roving Heights.
With many opportunities provided, our publicity is increasing, and we garner over 2000 views on the works of writers who are published through our website. Through new initiatives, we have also been able to help many writers receive feedback on their works, something that many other Nigerian literary websites have failed to achieve. Even on our social media accounts, our reach is expanding tremendously through developed strategies that we employ. Considering that we are less than 2 years young, we believe that our publicity rate and our reach is doing well and will do even better in the upcoming years. SLM is providing essential support and services at its pace and in its best capacity.
We appreciate your feedback and your energy, however we encourage that you explore all the pages on our website to gain full knowledge of our activities and impact. We also hope that you take full advantage of all the opportunities that SLM has to offer. In the upcoming month, there will be a nationwide poetry contest, and the application for the SLM mentorship programme will reopen. Keep following us on all social media accounts.
