Perfect Lies BY Joseph Hope

We take a blank sheet, to write what we will
And press it against our naive hearts—convinced
Believing in our lies—our convinced truth

They come in styles—naked and pure
Naked and pure—we immortalize them

Here! Every man dies
To his perfect conviction.

Joseph Hope from Enugu state, Nigeria, is a writer. His works have been published at Nthanda magazine. He is currently studying Applied Chemistry at Usman Danfodio University in Sokoto. When Joseph is not in the lab, he is either reading or writing poetry.

Inspiring.
"Believing in our lies - Our convinced truth"
Indeed! That's what the world has become. The Politics "Poli-Tricks" for example

I love the message. This poem captures our strong convictions as humans. I have noticed that we humans try to convince ourselves that our actions are always right and are done for an understandable reason. Really wish the poem was longer, but I still love it!

Well-crafted literary piece. The poem oozes the aroma of beauty and thoughtfulness.

I love how the author was able to capture our undying commitment to our convictions with few words. He used few words to paint how we, with defiance, often always resist a change in conviction. Concise. Deep. Thought-provoking.

Regardless, of the length, it is no doubt a great piece.
