Love is blind they say.
Well so is Stevie and he still makes me wonder
So is Cobhams and he still has a fine dame.
We should all be blind!
Blind to those who undermine us, dig into our mine and make them mime.
Blind to doubts so we can win the bouts of life.
Be blind so you can see.

I love the first two lines. It brought a smile to my soul. This is why I love poetry and basically literature in general.

It's amazing how a short piece can carry such profound message. The second and the third lines warmed my heart in a beautiful way; It makes one wonder how Stevie Wonder and Cobhams who in real life, are blind yet successful - what many would consider a setback didn't affect their rise to greatness. The poem has taught the importance of not giving an ear to naysayers and roadblocks when we are setting a path to achieving our goals. The poem builds confidence, encourages and gives the reader the "shove" needed to strive for greatness. God'sPower, this is outstanding.

Apt and profound! After watching Cobhams really performance at AMVCA, I remember discussing with a friend along these lines, a fine dame for a wife and amazing creativity. If there's nothing else, still choosing not to be pushed down and pushed back. And at the end of it all, only those who are blind to doubts and fears, and deaf to hearsay can really express truly and shine.
