After six years of leading the organization to sustainable growth and a national presence, SprinNG’s Board of Directors (Oyindamola Shoola, Kanyinsola Olorunnisola, Jesudamilare Adesegun-David, Abdulsalam Abdul Dante and Ifeoluwa Shoola) is announcing Ebukun Gbemisola Ogunyemi as SprinNG’s Director. Ebukun joined SprinNG in 2019 and has been pivotal in the development and success of the organization. For example, she played a central role in driving the SprinNG Women Authors Prize (SWAP), an empowerment initiative that has grown from awarding N200,000 to one winner annually. This year, the SprinNG Women Authors Prize will award N600,000 to two winners (N300,000 each). ![]() With a B.A. in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2015 and an M. A. in Literature-in-English (major in Gender & Sexuality Studies) from the same University in 2022, Ebukun has more than 8 years of experience in Teaching, Creative & Content Writing, CRM, and PR/Project Management. For 4 years (2019 — date), she has served as a Poetry Mentor at SprinNG, and in 2020, she became the first Manager of the SprinNG Women Authors Prize — a prize she has diligently managed. Ebukun is passionate about female empowerment, representation, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work explores and interrogates the complexities and politics of being and belonging. Following the Team Leads growth into more decision-making capacities as Board of Directors, SprinNG will continue developing under Ebukun’s leadership. Our mission remains the same, and our projects will continue creating more opportunities for the writers we serve.
Again, we cannot thank Ebukun enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation she has given SprinNG over the past four years. She will be taking SprinNG to new heights, leading the organization through tremendous growth, and delivering significant results in bringing accessibility to the literary community in Nigeria and beyond. Please join us in congratulating Ebukun and wishing her continued success with SprinNG. If you have any questions or concerns about this transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at contact@sprinng.org. Sincerely, SprinNG’s Board of Directors (Oyindamola Shoola, Kanyinsola Olorunnisola, Jesudamilare Adesegun-David, Abdulsalam Abdul Dante and Ifeoluwa Shoola)
